| Monthly dialogue sessions, starting in the fall of each year and continuing
to May, the RGAP offers the experience of growing through dialogue. Though our
main focus in relationship building between the sexes we also entertain
questions that span over a range of topics including homosexuality,
collaborative entrepreneurial ventures, child abuse, increasing professional
networking opportunities, community activism, just to name a few. The
R-Gap is a dynamic organization serving committed participants at every
session.
Our sessions typically hosts predominately African Americans, ranging from
strraight out of college to mid-life crisis years old. In our expansion efforts,
we are seeking to host all RGAP at Black owned businesses who can benefit from
access to African American s from this demographic to expand their customer base
and increase profits for new and current product sampling, advertising, and
other promotional activities.
The session, which beings at 7:00pm, starts with participants writing
questions of their interest and placing them in an anonymous bowl which
generates the conversation. At 8:30 we break with everyone quickly introducing
themselves and promoting any business or civic service they own. During the
break partnership are formed for either business, casual or dating purposes. We
resume at 9:00pm and usually go until 10:30pm but on several occasions the RGAP
has lasted as late at 12:30am. |
